Morrison has over 15 years of real estate finance and advisory experience. He has raised funding from virtually every type of organization – from equity investors to mezzanine financing to structured secured debt, for large institutional organizations as well as start-up technology firms.

During the late 1990s Morrison financed Intrawest Corporation’s real estate projects across North America raising over $550-million for projects including land acquisition and site servicing, revolving multi-project construction facilities, participating mezzanine equity partner facilities, and creative securitization (e.g. ¼ share, time share point inventory finance).

Morrison also has extensive experience divesting non-core assets on behalf of clients as an alternative to debt financing. He is currently advising a client selling a chain of 8 hotels and golf resorts in Atlantic Canada.

Morrison has assisted multiple BC government agencies establish public-private partnerships (advising on deal structure as well as evaluating P3 proposals). Projects include recreational/community facilities, wastewater treatment plants, hospitals and a convention centre with capital costs ranging from $25-million to over $800-million.

Gary is originally from Liverpool, UK. He has lived in Vancouver, BC since 1991 (after 10 years in Toronto). He holds an MBA (UBC ’93), Honours B.Math (UW, ’89) and is a Project Management Professional.
