James has been involved in the residential and recreational real estate sales and marketing business since 1993. As President and owner of rareEarth Project Marketing, and with previous other sales and marketing organizations, such as PaceSetter Marketing, and as Regional VP for Intrawest’s Playground Real Estate, James has led his various teams in approximately 30 successful project sales launches, totaling over $1 billion.

Over the course of James’ seventeen-year career in the real estate industry, he has always felt strongly that nailing the product offering properly is really at the crux of any successful sales and marketing campaign.  Particularly in the resort development sector, no amount of price incentives, expensive advertising campaigns or sentimental hyperbole will overcome a poorly envisioned and positioned development offering.  “Nailing the Offering” has become James’ most valued contribution to his clients’ sales and marketing programs.  Examples of recent rareEarth marketed resort developments are:  Black Rock Oceanfront Resort, The Cove Beach Resort, The Outback, Oswego, Whittakers, and Watermark Beach Resort.

James lives in West Vancouver, BC with his wife Paula, two young children, Julia and Jeremy, and little dog, Kimo.  When not active coaching his children’s soccer, James loves to run, fish, and boat and get up to “the cottage” at Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast.  James is also a member of the Vancouver Chapter of the Urban Development Institute, Cascadia Region Green Building Council and the West Vancouver Streamkeeper Society.
