With nearly 30 years experience as a Land Consultant Architect, Joe is considered
a leading professional and a valued strategist in the resort development
community. His keen understanding of economic strategies and market sensitivity,
coupled with his vast knowledge of physical land planning, has earned him
the trust of numerous clients throughout North America.
Joe is the Founder of NORR’s antecedent firms, which previously operated
as Stonefield Development Consultants with offices in Vancouver, Calgary,
and Dillon, CO. The Stonefield Group of Companies was purchased by the Ingenium
Group of Companies in 2008 and was rebranded as NORR Architects Planners.
NORR offers Architecture and Planning services globally with a team of 700
design professionals. Joe’s responsibilities include all major aspects
of company operations including business development, project management,
land use planning, land use documentation and entitlements, and construction
coordination.
Joe’s expertise lies in balancing a project’s financial needs
with planning and design functional capability, creating an economically
viable and comprehensively sustainable development that is both functional
and appealing to the market’s life-style expectations. He is often
involved with envisioning sessions that employ oral presentation, illustrative
sketches, site sections, and 3D simulations in order to define the vision
for a project.
He has provided consultancy advice to clients in both the public and private
sectors, including master planning and land use regulatory processes for
Snowmass Resort and Copper Mountain Resort in Colorado, Killington Resort
in Vermont, Loon Mountain Resort in New Hampshire, Ko Olina Resort in Hawaii,
Marine Land and Tide Land in Florida, Rancho Mirage in California, Pointe
West in Texas, and Panorama Mountain Resort in B.C.
