Ed has been involved in hospitality, service businesses and projects for over 30 years as an entrepreneur, financier, shareholder, director, manager, consultant, project manager and overall "doer". In 1996, he founded Bellstar Hotels & Resorts Ltd. and is its President & CEO. He was a Manager and Principal in Pannell Kerr Forster Management Consultants from 1986 to 1992.

Bellstar is currently involved in the management and development of 12 resorts in Alberta & British Columbia. Bellstar's mission is to "deliver exceptional resort experiences." A few of Bellstar's top resorts include Spirit Ridge Vineyard Resort & Spa in Osoyoos, B.C.; Mystic Springs Chalets & Hot Pools in Canmore, Alberta; and Bellaserra Tuscan Villas & Piazza in Kelowna, B.C.

Ed's education includes a Bachelor of Arts Honours (BA Hons.) from the University of Winnipeg, and a Master of City Planning (MCP) from the University of Manitoba. In recognition of his volunteer efforts principally at the University of Calgary, Haskayne School of Business, and the Calgary French & International School, he was awarded the Alberta Centennial Medal in 2005.
