Armand Abitbol’s career in hospitality started over 25 years ago.  A truly passionate hotelier, Armand has worked for Westin, Radisson, and Holiday Inn brands.   A graduate of Hotel Management, he received his CHA designation in 1990. 

Armand has been General Manager of the Holiday Inn Toronto Yorkdale since 1990.  In 1996 he was appointed Area Director for IHG’s Hotel Managed Group, followed by an appointment to Regional Vice President of Operations in 2004.  In this capacity, Armand oversees several IHG hotels in Canada and the North Eastern United States.

Armand is recognized by his peers for his devotion to the industry, clear vision, and for his ability to create a superior service culture through employee satisfaction. Under Armand’s leadership, the Holiday Inn Toronto Yorkdale has received many outstanding awards.  A few of the most notable are the Hotel Association of Canada Hall of Fame Award of Excellence in Human Resources and 11 consecutive Torchbearer Awards that are presented annually to the top 20 Holiday Inns in North America, that demonstrate service excellence. 
In 2007, the Holiday Inn Toronto Yorkdale won the Holiday Inn founder award, the Kemmons Wilson Spirit of Family Award, that is presented to the one hotel that reflects Kemmons’ values of community, family, and service. Also awarded to the hotel in 2007 was the Priority Club Members Choice Award, which is given to the one hotel that had the largest number of Priority Club Members vote for their favourite hotel based on its unique service culture. Both these awards are bestowed to just one Holiday Inn annually.
