Coordinator, Learning and Development
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts
Alaina career in the hospitality industry began by fluke. While studying at the University of Toronto, a chance reading of job postings led to her first position as a Summer Contract Flight Attendant – an ideal position for a university student because it included meeting new people and, of course, travel!
Realising that further studies would be needed to pursue a career in the industry, she began at Ryerson University’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management in 2003. It was while at Ryerson that she joined Four Seasons Hotel Toronto as a Receptionist and then, upon graduation, began the Manager in Training program in Catering. She transitioned to the training and development field in 2008 and recently moved to Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Corporate Office in Toronto as Coordinator of Learning and Development.
In addition, Alaina also held hospitality-related positions in France and Denmark. She is an active member of the MPI Toronto Chapter and received the Norm Neill Student Member of the Year from the chapter in 2007. Also in 2007 , she was nominated for – and received – a Dennis Mock Student Leadership Award from Ryerson University.
