Vice President - Managed Development Western
Namit Malhotra is Vice President Managed Development
of the Western Region and Canada for Hilton Hotels
Corporation. He is responsible for growing Hilton full-service and
luxury hotels in this region primarily through management contracts. He
joined Hilton in 2003 as Director of Feasibility & Investment
Analysis and was promoted to Vice President Feasibility & Investment
Analysis in September 2004.
He began his career in 1987
working in guest services and audit for the Park Plaza
Hotel and Holiday Inn – Yale, both in New Haven, Connecticut.
In 1991 he moved to Dubai, United Arab Emirates and joined the Al Khaleej Palace
Hotel, first as Room Reservations Manager and then as Sales Manager. He also
worked in operations at the Wedgewood Hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia,
Canada. In 1997, he joined HVS International as an Associate in the Vancouver,
British Columbia office and received promotions to Senior Associate and Vice
President. In 2000 he transferred to HVS’s San Francisco office. During
his tenure at HVS and Hilton he has had extensive appraisal, evaluation, and
consultancy work performed in over 30 US states, 9 Canadian provinces, Europe,
and South America.
Malhotra holds a Bachelor’s of Science in
Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University
of New Haven in Connecticut, where he was on the Dean’s List.
He has also written several articles appraising the
hospitality industry for industry trade publications.
