David C. Mongeau
DAVID MONGEAU is Chairman and founder of Avington Financial Limited. Mr Mongeau has advised on some of the highest profile transactions at the forefront of change in the global hospitality sector and is a frequent speaker and moderator at real estate, hospitality and leisure conferences and has consulted on a number of strategic initiatives involving brand value.
Mr Mongeau is Vice-Chairman of the
World Travel & Tourism Council
(WTTC), Chairman of its Membership Committee and a member of the Executive
Committee of its Board of Directors.
Prior to joining CIBC Wood Gundy in 1993, Mr Mongeau spent seven years as a senior executive at Four Seasons Hotels, where in addition to the purchase and sale of numerous hotel assets, he led the acquisition of Regent Hotels and represented Four Seasons in its various hotel ownership joint ventures.
Avington was established in late 2005 as an international, independent investment bank focused on the global hospitality, leisure, real estate and consumer-related sectors. Avington is headquartered in London England and regulated by the UK Financial Services Authority and carries out investment banking activities throughout North America and Europe through its international subsidiaries.
For 2006, its first full year of operations, Avington was ranked #2 in Bloomberg’s 2006 Global Hospitality M&A league table. In 2007 Avington ranked #7 in Bloomberg’s Global Hospitality REIT M&A league table.
