Walter Prychidny

Mr. Prychidny, the founder of Trillium Leisure Corporation, is a commerce graduate of the University of Toronto, a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator and has extensive experience in all aspects of the hospitality industry – operations, development franchising and acquisitions. Most recently he held the position of President and CEO of Unihost Corporation, a publicly traded company involved in hotel management, ownership and franchising.  During his tenure, Mr. Prychidny was the prime lead in acquiring in excess of $300 million of hotel real estate.  In addition, he was the prime management participant in attempting to fend off and increase shareholder value in the hostile take-over of Unihost in 1999.Previously he held the position of CEO of Commonwealth Hospitality Ltd. – Canada’s largest multi-brand company.  Mr. Prychidny led the company through the recession and successfully positioned the company for sale and sourced the eventual purchaser, UniHost Corporation (previously Journey’s End Corporation). He has also held the position of President of Ramada Franchise Canada Ltd.  The hotels under the Ramada brand in Canada more then doubled under his tenure.  He then successfully sourced and sold the company to AFM Hospitality Corporation, Canada’s largest multi-brand franchise company. Mr. Prychidny obtained his CA designation at Price Waterhouse in Toronto.

Trillium Group owns and operates 4 resort destinations in Muskoka area.  The project to be discussed at this session is the successful conversion of an operating resort, Pinelands Resort, to an upscale fractional project The Muskokan Resort Club on Lake Joseph.
