As a hotel strategist, Rolston uses design as a medium to challenge convention and explore spaces beyond the boundaries. Years of collaborating with the industries finest: discussing, positioning and analyzing the life of properties all over the world, have given him a unique perspective on how to inspire and capture the imagination.
Before joining HOK, Rolston has worked internationally for hospitality focused firms including, Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA) and Yabu Pushelberg (YP). His projects span across four continents, working with industry leading brands, operators and developers to create exceptional guest and client experiences. Notable collaborators include: Ritz Carlton, Trump International, Park Hyatt, St. Regis, Mandarin Oriental and Jumeirah hotels.
Ian is a native son of Toronto, an Environmental Design graduate from the Ontario College of Art + Design and a believer in the idea that design can profoundly impact our world. With over 15 years of experience, Rolston’s skill and critical eye are focused on delivering highly connected and intuitive environments. Additionally, Rolston leverages his working knowledge in the hospitality market, to create appropriate solutions that uniquely distinguish brands across market segments.
