Andrew received a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) with a major in Accounting from the University of British Columbia in 1985. He subsequently earned his Chartered Accountant designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia in 1987. He began his professional career working at KPMG in Vancouver from 1985 to 1993. When he left the firm to join Intrawest Corporation in 1993 he was a Senior Manager in the Tax Group.
At Intrawest, Andrew initially worked for the President of the real
estate group with principal emphasis in financial analysis and
financial reporting for 50 projects across 13 resorts. During this
time he became very familiar with all aspects of the real estate
development process and ultimately became an instructor at the Intrawest Development School.
As Intrawest continued to grow through acquisitions, Andrew’s role evolved into leading the internal M&A group as Executive Vice President. He assisted with the successful execution of in excess of 30 major acquisitions/divestitures in Canada, United States and Europe representing $1.3B in transaction value (excluding the sale of Intrawest).
