Owner & President | Smoke's Poutinerie Inc
"Ryan Smolkin attended Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario where he graduated the Business Admin Co-Op Program in ‘95. As a student, Smolkin established a portfolio of rental property investments that he built to over $4 million in assets before selling off all properties in 2004.
After graduation, Smolkin established AmoebaCorp, a Graphic Design and Branding company in Toronto, Ontario. With Smolkin as its founding leader, AmoebaCorp emerged as a nationally-recognized, industry-leading firm with a client list including Nike, Molson, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, Corus Entertainment and YTV. As its President and Chief Executive Officer, Smolkin spearheaded and negotiated the sale of AmoebaCorp with John St. Advertising in November 2006 before leaving in May 2007.
Smolkin then began the development of Smoke’s Poutinerie, building an entirely new food category and a National Poutine Empire of over 50 locations in four years, with immediate plans on International expansion to the US and oversees in the quest for Global Domination. Smolkin and Smoke’s Poutinerie have been published as case studies in University textbooks as well as Business and Franchise Books on retail shelves across the Country. The list of PR through TV, Print, Radio and Social Media is unprecedented on an International scale for such a young company and Smolkin now spends a lot of his time as an Entrepreneur and Franchising consultant along with being a Keynote Speaker at several events, shows and conferences. And to cap it of, Smoke’s Poutinerie just received the Pinnacle Award through Foodservice and Hospitality as the Company of the Year in all of Canada!”
