Andrew Bell

Host of BNN's Commodities, Business Day PM, and The Pitch

Whether he’s talking about investing in resource shares or sharing secrets about the real life of a financial broadcaster, Andrew Bell delivers the hard truth―often using mordant humour and delicious irony to make his points.

Bell is the host of Commodities and Business Day PM, two of the most-watched shows on Business News Network, Canada’s only all business and financial news channel. He is also the host of BNN’s The Pitch, a program that sees Canadian entrepreneurs hoping to entice risk capitalists to invest in their business and help take their dreams to the next level. In addition, Bell files daily reports on the stock market, economics, politics, and personal finance for BNN, as well as appearing frequently on other CTV channels such as CP24 and CTV News Channel.

Prior to joining BNN, Bell was a business reporter and editor for 12 years with The Globe and Mail, where he wrote the scathingly funny weekly survey of stocks and mutual funds, “Stars & Dogs,” and he’s currently a regular contributor to Report on Business magazine.

Bell is also the author of Mutual Funds for Canadians for Dummies. In 2001, he was the inaugural winner of the Investment Funds Institute of Canada annual Journalism Awards Program.
