John Lacey is a co-owner of Sugar Media, a boutique marketing and communications agency in Toronto that specializes in sponsorship, experiential and event marketing.
Throughout his 20 year career, John has worked with a broad range of tier-one brands, including: General Motors, BMO, Subway, Samsung, Subway, Honda, Sleeman, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, Chrysler, WIND, Bell, Kia, Unilever, Carlsberg and OLG. Prior to Sugar Media, John held senior positions at two of Canada’s largest agencies, MacLaren McCann and Cossette Communications.
John has built strong a portfolio of sponsorship credentials having experience evaluating and negotiating with over 125 properties across Canada and the U.S. With a specific expertise in sponsorship strategy and property valuation, John has consulted with a broad range of brands in nearly every industry sector, from banking and automotive to telecommunications and hospitality.
John lives in Toronto with his wife and three children. John has a B.A. in English from the University of Western Ontario and an M.B.A in Marketing and Strategy from the Schulich School of Business, York University.
