David Kincaid

Within the marketing industry, David Kincaid is among the most recognized and respected opinion leaders. He is the founder, owner, president and CEO of Level5 Inc., one of Canada’s fastest-growing strategic brand consultancies. Level5 counts RIM, Manulife, PetroCanada, Canada Post, Bell, National Bank Financial and the CBC among its more prominent clients. As chief marketing officer at Corus Entertainment, and one of its founding members, he helped set the organization’s corporate vision and values positioning.

He was senior vice-president of marketing and director of strategic planning at Labatt Breweries of Canada, where he led the strategic brand planning around the company’s expansion into the United States, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Cuba. He played a major role in the successful turnaround of Labatt Blue with the award-winning “Out of the Blue” marketing platform, and launched the Stella Artois and Alexander Keith brands. In the mid 1980s, he was director of marketing and sales at American Express Canada Inc.

A frequent lecturer and speaker at Canada’s leading business schools, he has written on marketing for a range of publications, including Marketing, The Globe and Mail and Strategy. He has helped steer the brand direction of such high-profile clients as Deeley Harley-Davidson, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Live Nation and Canada Post. He sits on the Sunnybrook Research Institute and Kingsway College School boards.
