Welcome to the 2011 Hotel Association of Canada’s Annual Conference!

Canadian hotels are facing a dynamic, challenging but potentially rewarding environment. With more than 3,500 hotels offering in excess of 325,000 rooms and generating some $11 billion in revenue, Canadian hotels form an integral part of the national tourism industry. Yet at times, the industry seems under siege as a result of human resource constraints, declining American visitation, inconsistent marketing support and a host of local issues.

From its inception, the Hotel Association of Canada Annual Conference provides an opportunity for those involved in the operation of Canadian lodging enterprises, and their suppliers, to gain timely insights into industry trends and current practices. This Conference provides a vehicle for delegates to benefit from in-depth, interactive sessions that are uniquely Canadian.

New this year, HAC delegates can take advantage of TWO MORE EVENTS at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel!

On March 8th, the Canadian Tourism Marketing Summit  will examine the importance of (and the required activities) supporting tourism marketing, with a focus on bringing international visitors to Canada as well as domestic travel. This inaugural event is strategically positioned as a “bridge event” between Hotel Association of Canada’s Annual Conference (HAC) and Online Revealed Canada (ORC) in order to broaden the interest and corresponding attendance base. The audience focus for this event will include not only the hotelier community attending the HAC Conference and Online Marketing Specialists at ORC, but also the widest possible cross section of businesses involved in tourism marketing.

Hall of Fame Awards of Excellence

The 7th Annual Hall of Fame Awards proudly recognizes HAC members (individuals, companies or properties) who have demonstrated significant accomplishments, exemplary leadership and tireless commitment to Canada's lodging industry.

The Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony will take place during a special luncheon on March 7, 2011 at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. Join us as we celebrate the winners of the Humanitarian Award, Human Resources Award, and Energy & Environment Award!
