Tim Terceira

General Manager | The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto

As opening General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto, Tim has been responsible for the hotel opening since coming on board in March 2009.

Prior to his current role, Tim was Vice President of Market Operations for Marriott Hotels of Canada. He was the strategic business leader of all Full Service Hotels in Canada, providing expertise, strategic direction and insight regarding Food and Beverage, Event Management, Rooms Operations and related services.

Mr. Terceira began his Marriott career in 1988 as Resident Manager of the Toronto Airport Marriott Hotel and in 1990, was recognized with the Resident Manager of the Year Award for the Northeast Region. In 1991 Mr. Terceira successfully opened the Toronto Marriott Eaton Centre as the hotel’s Director of Operations. From 1993 to 1996, Mr. Terceira was Resident Manager of Marriott’s Castle Harbour Resort, Bermuda.

Before returning to Canada in 1998, Mr. Terceira served as General Manager of the Park Ridge Marriott and the Area General Manager for four hotels in Northern New Jersey.

Prior to joining Marriott, Tim was Director of Operations at the Elbow Beach Resort in Bermuda and spent almost eight years with Four Seasons Hotels.

Tim was educated in the United Kingdom and at the University level graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. Mr. Terceira has served as a member of the Board of Governors and a Director of the Bermuda College; Lecturer at Loyalist College, Belleville Ontario; member of the Corporate Advisory Group for Children’s Miracle Network Canada; and Curriculum Advisor for the Hospitality School Niagara College.

Tim is a Canadian Citizen and is married to Karen and has two lovely daughters Kimberley and Kelly.
