Hank Stackhouse is an accomplished industry veteran with 25 years of experience in the Canadian hospitality industry.
As the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Delta Hotels and Resorts, Canada’s leading hotel management company, Hank has led a team of over 7,000 colleagues and oversees a portfolio of 45 hotels and resorts with more than 12,000 guest rooms across Canada.
Hank began his relationship with the Delta brand 25 years ago in Vancouver, British Columbia, as a front desk clerk at Delta’s first hotel, the Delta Airport Inn. This role carved the way for Hank in assuming increasing responsibility throughout hotel operations in locations across Canada. He took on his first General Manager’s assignment in Whistler, managing what was the company’s first foray into the international resort business.
In 1995, Hank took on the role of Regional Vice President for Atlantic Canada based in Halifax, and in 1997, the position expanded to include properties in Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Orlando, Florida. In November 2000, he was appointed Senior Vice President of Operations at the company’s corporate office. He became President of Delta Hotels in July 2006, and in December 2007, his role expanded with the additional responsibility of Chief Operating Officer. In January 2009, Hank was appointed to Chief Executive Officer.
Hank is passionate about community involvement and has driven the development of the company’s corporate social responsibility program, Delta Helps. He was instrumental in creating Delta’s new national partnership with Habitat for Humanity Canada, and the chain’s national sustainability program, Delta Greens.
Hank is an active member in industry affairs and has served in leadership roles for the Hotel Association of Canada, Canadian Tourism Commission and Whistler Tourism Association.
