Group Sales Manager | Hilton Toronto
Giovanna Vallejo is a recent graduate from Ted Rogers School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Ryerson University. In her final year, she was one of two people chosen for the Director’s Project, which was to plan the 60th Diamond Anniversary of the Hospitality and Tourism Management program. Almost 300 hospitality executives and alumni returned to their roots during this celebratory event. The event went seamlessly after four full months of close planning with the Program Director.
Presently, having only worked for the Hilton Toronto for four years, Giovanna has grown significantly within several departments of the hotel. She started her career with the Hilton Toronto in June, 2011, working as a part-time Server in Tundra while completing her degree at Ryerson. One year later when she completed her degree, she was transferred to the Front Office Department where she worked as a full-time Guest Service Agent. After only two years at the Front Desk, she was then promoted to the position of Sales Coordinator in May, 2014. She is now the Corporate Group Sales Manager since June 2015.
In April 2015 Giovanna won a Spirit Award for Administration Ambassador of the Year presented by the Greater Toronto Hotel Association. She dedicated her expertise and took ownership of the opening of the new Hilton Meadowvale hotel, formally a Delta. Giovanna worked day and night to help create the hotel’s brand website from scratch. The website required a lot of detail and she took the time to do extensive research to develop the website perfectly. Additionally, Giovanna spent two weeks working at the Hilton Meadowvale on a Front Office Task Force, training and ensuring the brand conversion was as seamless as possible.
Giovanna looks forward to being involved on the Young Guns panel, providing insights about the future of the Canadian hotel industry, travel experiences and future trends.
