Romy Bhojwani

Senior Vice President, Asset Management | Delta Hotels and Resorts

Current Responsibilities
Romy Bhojwani is the Senior Vice President, Asset Management for Delta Hotels and Resorts. In this newly created role, Romy is responsible for developing and executing the real estate strategy for all Delta-branded bcIMC-owned hotels. This includes overseeing and enhancing portfolio financial performance, leading the capital planning and execution functions, developing the asset management function with the objective of maximizing asset values. In this role, Romy is also responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and executing hotel acquisitions, new hotel development opportunities and asset dispositions.

Romy is a 15-year veteran of the global hospitality and real estate industries, having worked in several key hotel markets around the world including the Americas, India, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Australia. Prior to joining Delta, Romy was the Senior Vice President, Real Estate for Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels based in Los Angeles, California, where he performed a leadership role in the execution of the firm’s investment sales, debt and equity capital raising, strategic advisory and asset management services in the Western United States.

Prior to that, Romy served as the Vice President of Asset Management at Hilton Hotels Corporation, based at the Global Headquarters in Beverly Hills, California. In this role, he led the implementation of the company’s real estate strategy across all owned, leased and joint venture hotels in North America, and performed asset management duties for a portfolio of 120 properties across 8 hotel brands. Also in this position, he successfully executed a 3-year portfolio rationalization strategy, which included hotel dispositions valued at $2.5 Billion and capital spending in excess of $350 Million.
Throughout his career, Romy has actively participated in hotel real estate transactions in excess of $3.5 Billion and performed valuations for over $12 Billion in hotel and mixed-use real estate.

Education and Affiliations
Romy began his career in the hospitality industry as a Management Trainee with Oberoi Hotels, India. After a brief stint in his family’s real estate business, he held different positions with Horwath Asia-Pacific, a hospitality consulting firm and Sonnenblick-Goldman, a boutique Real Estate Investment Bank, both of which were based in Singapore.

Romy is a graduate of the Master of Management in Hospitality program at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration and also has a Certification in Strategic Management from the Hotel School’s Professional Development Program. Romy also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Pune, India and an Associate Degree in Hotel Administration and Food Technology from Sophia College, Bombay. He is a Certified Hotel Administrator with the American Hotel & Lodging Association.

Romy is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, Cornell Hotel Society, and the Cornell Entrepreneurs Network. He also serves as a Board Member for “Share Our Strength”, a non-profit organization focused on eliminating childhood hunger. Romy is a frequent speaker at the university classroom level and is often called upon to be a panelist at lodging industry conferences. Romy is an avid surfer and competitive swimmer. He and his wife Blaire live in Toronto with their 3-year old twin boys.
