Canadian Restaurant Investment Summit Gives Back

CANADIAN HOTEL INVESTMENT CONFERENCE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
As part of Big Picture Conferences (BPC) long-term commitment to education and the development of well-trained hospitality industry professionals, BPC has established a “collaborative” scholarship of $25,000 that will be awarded annually to a recognized education institution AND two enrolled students at the same institution. This award was created to support upper year students (5th semester or higher) who are pursuing a career in the Hospitality field and who are enrolled in any Hospitality, Tourism, Hotel Management stream, school, diploma, program etc. at a recognized Canadian college or university.
The $25,000 cash scholarship will be divided up as follows:
$15,000 will be allocated to a Canadian university or college towards student learning opportunities at the discretion of the department advisor.
$10,000 will be allocated directly for two “full-time” students who are currently enrolled in the same Canadian university or college selected to receive the $15,000 fund. Winning students will each receive $5000 and receive complimentary passes and one night’s accommodation to attend the Canadian Hotel Investment Conference and accept their award on stage.

#hotelNEXT is a nationwide student competition where aspiring young developers pitch their recommendations for a hotel renovation to a panel of Canadian investors and hotel owners in front of a live audience at the Canadian Hotel Investment Conference.
Using the case study approach, the top 3 teams will have 10 minutes to present a financially viable business case and convince the panel, that their project should be the next Canadian hotel in development. First place winning team receives $5000 cash, second place $3000 and third place $2000.
